About the Artists

Jazida (lead role)

Jazida is a Canberra-based entertainer, producer and teacher. 21st Century Burlesque Magazine says “I will not forget her any time soon” and listed her as #46 in the Top 50 most influential burlesque industry figures across the globe for 2020.

Jazida has become recognised as one of Australia’s premiere burlesque performers, having been accepted to perform at the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas in 2018 and virtually in 2020, chosen as the representative Australian Headliner for the Perth International Burlesque Festival in 2019, selected as a Featured Artist for the Australian Burlesque Festival 2019, and selected as teacher on the Australian Burlesque Cruise 2020!

Her creativity, cheeky, and fun performance style (with a specialty in fan dancing) has won the heart of audiences and judges. Her feature show “Catch Jazida” won Best Dance at the Adelaide Fringe Festival Weekly Awards, and she has won many other awards including Miss Burlesque ACT 2016, Baby Bombshells as part of the Australian Burlesque Festival 2016 , and Burlesque Idol Canberra 2015.

As well as being a performer, Jazida works to elevate alternate performing arts and support the industry by producing shows through Jazida Productions and running classes through Flazéda, managing performance troupes (particularly Jazida’s Fabulous Fan Dancers) and also run workshops across Australia. In 2020 Jazida Productions won the Canberra Local Business Awards for Outstanding Performing Arts and two years running was voted in the top 10 of people who have made the biggest contribution to the Australian Burlesque Scene at The Busties (the Australian Burlesque Industry Awards)

Jazida regularly produces sold out shows (“Decadence and Debauchery” being her main touring variety night). She works to facilitate professional development opportunities for local alternate performing artists and is passionate about artist development (herself receiving a grant for creative development from ArtsACT in the ACT Government in 2019 and another in 2020). In addition to this, her passion for burlesque has seen her become co-director of the board for the Australian Burlesque Museum.

Artemis Seven (supporting actor)

Artemis Seven is trained in tap, contemporary, neo-classical, jazz & hip-hop dance and has performed across the globe. She has a history in theatre and film local to Australia and studied through workshops (ImproACT, Peter Wilkins, NIDA short courses in Sydney and ACT) and a month long by-application residency at NIDA (Syd).

She is the winner of Miss Innovative 2018 at Miss Burlesque Australia, Winner of Miss Burlesque ACT 2018 at Miss Burlesque Australia, Winner of Burlesque Idol Canberra 2017 and 2nd Place at New Follies 2017 as part of the Australian Burlesque Festival.
